Psychotherapy Practice–Support through life’s changes
There are few things that are certain in life, but change is one of them. We are all coping with changes all the time. Change can be good, hard, necessary, painful, or exciting.
I explore and build on people’s strengths and capabilities to help them handle change in ways that are more satisfying and constructive for them. By focusing on what people want in their lives while having a good understanding of the challenges and problems they have experienced and are facing, I work to help people better manage the problems and challenges they face.
Survivors’ Truths–Telling another part of the story
Victimization is about hopelessness, helplessness, powerlessness, and disconnection from others. Those who survive horrible things have, indeed experienced victimization. However, they have also found ways to cope, to escape, to connect with others, to be courageous in the face of the inconceivable. This project seeks to draw out and emphasize the part of each person’s story where they were able to find a way through difficult circumstances.
Using photography, audio recording, and video documentation, Survivors’ Truths makes space for a few of these voices, gives face to their stories, and celebrates the spirit of survival and hope.
Horrible Moms’ Club–An online community for the rest of us
The Horrible Moms’ Club has been sidelined for a while but is intended to be an antidote to perfection-obsessed, condescending, judgmental, overly-opinionated, overly-commercial parenting sites. Our core values include:
- Non-judgment, period.
- Tongue-in-cheek humor
- Compassionate information sharing
- Ourselves as people and parents
- Our children as people not products
